BACKGROUND
A story inspired by the extraordinary life and work of the maverick conservationist and gambling impresario John Aspinall.
A suave man, John set up The Clermont Club in the late sixties, a gambling house for the super-rich - set in a luxuriously furnished townhouse in Berkley Square in London's fashionable Mayfair. The club became a magnet for high-rollers from all over the world including actors, high-society gentlemen and royalty. The fabulous wealth and glamour also attracted players with connections to gangsters from London's underworld.
But this story is not about mobsters - yes it will touch on this dubious dark side of the gambling world with hustlers and scams but this story is inspired and central to what John Aspinall did with his wealth and the winnings of one infamous horse race.
From brandy and cigars - Chemin de Fer and Baccarat, John Aspinall funded his passion for conservation and this is the inspiration behind this story. To coin a phrase "A Passion To Protect" whatever the cost.
This story is not a biopic. Our central character will be surrounded with fictional characters to add depth and drama to the story. The heart of this story is what one man will do to secure the freedom of animals.
John Aspinall (known as 'ASPERS') went on to set up The Aspinall Foundation where his son Damian Aspinall continues the groundbreaking work to halt the extinction of endangered species, to protect and reintroduce animals back into the wild.
The Aspinall Foundation manage projects in Africa, Java and Madagascar protecting animals and their fragile habitats.

GENRE: FANTASY ADVENTURE
Based on the novel THE SCHOOLING OF HOPE BALLINGER AND THE CASE OF THE LOST BOY by G.P. Sirod.
Screenplay Adaptation by Amanda Street
SYNOPSIS
"We are the heroes of our time and we're dancing with the demons in our minds" - Måns Zelmerlöw
A fantasy adventure with angels and demons, that follows the schooling of Hope Ballinger, a child gifted in telepathy and telekinesis. Unaware of her destiny, she will face ridicule, fight soul-eating diablos, defy the commands of the Gods, discover who the Lost Boy is and forge powerful friendships before discovering the awful truth behind her parents’ deaths.
SCREEN ADAPTATION
This screenplay is based on the first book of five in THE WHITE LIGHT SERIES.
The White Light Series follows the adventures of Hope Ballinger, from the age of twelve to eighteen years of age. The story unfolds over five films and follows Hope’s journey from her inauspicious beginnings in an orphanage, through her schooling in the art of soul-seeking at The White Light School, to her ultimate destiny.
With her five classmates Hope travels in and out of the hidden doors in the white light: portals to worlds of angels and souls, gods and demons. Their fantastic adventures lead the six to grow and develop into a fierce fighting force against the Diablos (diabolical and satanic warriors of the Demon Gods). But Hope continues to feel at odds with those around her, never quite feeling as though she ‘fits’. It is not until the last film that we find out why.
This fantasy tale of a heroine, gifted in telekinesis and telepathy, uses characters of multicultural backgrounds to bind the plot. The use of mythological and doctrinal allegory is interwoven but hidden in the story of Hope, as she grows in strength of mind and spirit.
